Spring
Gardening Workshop -
Gardening From the
Ground Up …. two sessions will be
held at “The Willow Garden”,
Maryvale.
Both sessions
should be of
interest to both novice and experienced gardeners. Mid-late May should
find
Rhododendrons and spring bulbs in full swing, and provide a good visual
experience to accompany the course information.
Topic #1.
Every
successful gardening endeavour begins with soil preparation.
Aspects will include
amendments
mulches
fertilizers
weed control
bed preparation
Topic #2.
Growing Rhododendrons and Azaleas
Aspects
will include
site selection
variety choices
proper planting techniques
ongoing care
Topic#3.
Spring Flowering Bulbs
This topic will
be a part of both sessions and
will
illustrate the many
types of bulbs available, their siting, and care. Seeing bulbs in
flower can be
a big help in planning how to incorporate them into your garden.
Participants
should dress
appropriately and be prepared for an outdoor, hands-on experience.
Garden
gloves would be a good idea, and cameras are welcome.
