Our annual spring plant sale is a popular event among gardeners
in
the area. It offers the chance to try some new and unusual plants along
with the mainstays. Have a look at a partial listing
of some plants we plan to have available. This list will be updated
closer to the Sale Date.
The propensity to plant more
than one really has room for is ever with us.

COUNTY RECREATION GARDEN COURSE
An afternoon Workshop
is planned
for September 26, 2009.
Check here for
the plan.
County Recreation Computer Basics
Course
A "sequel" course will be offered in the Spring Session of
the County Recreation Newsletter.
The plan is to delve a bit more deeply into some of the topics outlined
in the fall session.
COMPUTER BASICS - “The Sequel”
This
course is designed to
further review and familiarize people with some of the “housekeeping”
basics of
computer use.
It will assume a reasonable
level of “computer savvy”, but will not be considered “advanced”. It
will
revisit, and delve a bit more deeply into some of the topics covered in
the Fall
Computer Basics course.
Some elements included will
be:
- Organization
of personal files, use of flash drives, and CD’s for moving and
alternate
storage of files
- Personalizing
settings on your home computer
- Using
the Internet for various activities such as shopping, banking, and
social
interaction (Groups/Blogs)
- Digital
Photography - We will deal a bit more with the organization of image
files,
some photo editing, and modes for image sharing and printing.
- As
time permits, we will look at some of the “home uses” of special
programs.
These can be as diverse as doing your taxes, organizing recipes or
preparing an
entertaining presentation.
Student input is welcomed.
Five sessions starting Monday, March30. 7-9 PM at St. Andrew Jr. School
