The Antigonish
Garden
Club
(Founded in 1983)
The Antigonish Garden Club
celebrated
its twentieth
year in 2003.
It was organized by a group of
interested
gardeners in 1983 and has continued to have an active membership and
interesting
program topics.
Association with the Nova Scotia
Association
of Garden Clubs occurred until 1991, when it withdrew from that
association,
but continued to be very active locally. Membership is on a casual
basis
, but we have a very dedicated core group which contributes to the
planning
and success of all Garden Club activities.
Regular meetings are held on the third
Monday of each month; September through June. Meetings are typically
held
in the J. Bruce Brown Building at St. Francis Xavier University.
Several
meetings a year are "off-site", often at one of the members gardens.
We formed an online Group in late
2004. It is open to interested gardeners from our area.
